Interests
In addition to artwork and writing, Kristi's interests include
horseback riding, horse camping, reading, singing, playing computer
adventure games, and exploring rural Nevada trails, ghost towns, and
rock-hounding sites. She and her husband, Rick, enjoy traveling
together, both in the US and on foreign equine and other adventures. In
addition to fox hunting for several years with the Long Lake Hounds in
Minnesota, they have been horseback riding in the jungles of Belize and
the southwest area of Iceland. Their next riding vacation is planned for
Uruguay in November 2006. Kristi has also fox hunted on Exmoor in the
West Country of England several times. Both Kristi and Rick enjoy the
ocean, boating, and fishing, and they have vacationed together on the
West Coast, the North Shore of Lake Superior, the British Virgin
Islands, the Bahamas Exumas, and the out islands of Belize.
Kristi and Rick own three horses that they use to ride and horse camp
in the Ruby Mountains and other areas of rural Nevada. Kristi's Pembroke
Welsh Corgi, Toto, is her constant companion, and they both enjoy his
training on agility course obstacles.

This is typical of the riding terrain in the Ruby Mountains of northeastern Nevada. Kristi and Rick rode Icelandic horses for a week on the Snaefellsness Peninusula of Iceland. This is on the ascent to Soldier Creek Basin in the Ruby Mountains for an overnight horse camping trip.
