6/6/06--Kristi Lyn Glass was awarded the 2006
Mounds View High School Distinguished Alumni Award at
the school's graduation ceremony in St. Paul, MN. She received this
award for a lifetime of achievement in art and other creative endeavors.
These include technical writing, editing, yearbook judging, web design,
founding and publishing of Gothic Journal (an international
news and review magazine for romantic suspense novels), and authoring
two fiction manuscripts and dozens of technical manuals. She also
founded and managed three timeshare computer companies, including a
precursor to the internet and one that offered timeshare access to
large-system computer games. Beyond these achievements, Kristi is an
artist, jewelry designer, a developer and leader of workshops for women,
and a horsewoman. Susan Kent Sedlins, a high school classmate of
Kristi's, nominated Kristi for this award and summarized her in this
way: "Kristi is an intelligent woman who strives to expand and improve
upon her many gifts. While that is reason enough to nominate her for
this honor, she doesn't stop there. She continually finds ways to use
her gifts to uniquely fill unmet needs and serve as a pathfinder and
guide for others."
